Altaïr Avocats assisted Amcad Engineering, a software developer specializing in RF and microwave circuit performance analysis and a manufacturer of these circuits, in the sale of its software division to Dassault Systèmes, the global leader in 3D modeling solutions.

Founded in 2004 by Christophe Charbonniaud, Tony Gasseling, and Stéphane Dellier, Amcad Engineering has established itself as a key player in the RF and microwave circuit industry, thanks to its software Ivcad, Vision Iqstar, and Whiteboard, which are now integrated into Dassault Systèmes' Simulia brand.

This acquisition marks a new chapter for Amcad, with its software division now joining Dassault Systèmes' industrial innovation expertise, while the hardware division remains under the direction of its founders.

With this acquisition, Dassault Systèmes strengthens its position in the industrial software sector, where its 2023 revenue reached €837 million, driven by its flagship subsidiaries such as Catia, Enovia, Simulia, Delmia, and 3DEXCITE. Overall, Dassault Systèmes generated €5.95 billion in revenue in 2023.

Altaïr Avocats advised Amcad Engineering on corporate matters, with Philippe Beauregard, partner, and Jeanne Mucchielli, associate. On the tax side, the team was led by Damien Hautin, partner, and Clémence Bauché, associate. Christophe Héry, partner, handled contracts and IP/IT aspects.

For the buyer, Dassault Systèmes was represented by the law firm Reboul & Associés
